I bought a Lion Borealis 1150 lumens in January of 2012:
http://www.militaryfirearm.com/Forum/archive/index.php/t-20736.html

Housing: Maglite
Batteries: 3 x 3.7V 18650 Li-Ion batteries
Bulb: Welch Allyn 1185 (WA1185)
Socket: Five Mega G4 socket

Can anyone provide a recommendation for a replacement bulb?

I've been told to try to find a 12V G4 bulb or a 6V G4 long life bulb - but this is not my expertise - I am in the dark  over what brand/bulb to try.

I have at least 50 of most of the common bulbs we fell in love with back when I was doing mods and bulb tests (my sig)....including 1185's.

Welch Allyn company closed lighting department and discontinued all bulbs so it will be hard to find item.
WA1318 will work instead of WA1185 but less output and longer run time. I suggest using known brand protected batteries.
Another choice is
FM1909 which is even brighter than WA1185 but run time will be shorter. This bulb will work with IMR batteries only.
Good luck.

Those bulb tests, has been by far my most visited page on cpf. Thanks, LUX!
