LUMONITE Compass R or Olight H2R?

Should I buy LUMONITE Compass R or Olight H2R, which one is better in your opinion?

Never heard of Lumonite so I can't help you there. I do however have several H2Rs and they are amazing. Turbo is 2X the Lumonite at 2300 Lumens (blindingly bright for the small size). My only criticism is I wish they had a slightly wider beam profile for using as a headlamp. Olight is one of the best companies out there for support so you can't go wrong. I just don't like their new trend to go with proprietary battery packs and batteries in their lights lately. That's my 2 cents...
edit: I should have mentioned that the H2R comes with the proprietary protected battery needed to go full turbo in the light. Regular 18650s don't work (no turbo) and can't use the magnetic charging base. You must use their batteries (which I did get to swap out. Even some of their other lights like the M2R lights etc batteries don't work).

H2R can only run @2300 Lumens for a minute and then it's going to be 750 lm for 1h50 while Compass R can run @1200 lm for 1h40 and maybe most importantly @630 lm Compass R operates more than an hour longer.
But this is not to say H2R is not good, it is, that is why I'm pondering which one to get.

The H2R in cold weather (below freezing) will run much longer than 1 minute at 2300 lumens, though total time is only about a half-hour. I was startled by the close similarity between the two units - I wonder if the chargers, etc. would be interchangeable between the two? Same weight, the Lumonite claims a slightly larger battery capacity (3500 vs 3000 mAhr). I like that the Nova has two lower intensity modes, 30 lumens and 1 lumen. But I also like that 8-hour 240 lumen mode on the Lumonite. List price looks higher than what I paid for the H2R.

Looking more at the Web page, the Lumonite has the button on the side of the head, not the end - this might make for an easier two-finger "pinch" to change modes. With the H2R it's a 3-finger operation. I like the wide selection of mounts Lumonite has. The metal clip mount will scratch up the barrel eventually but may be more rugged than the magnet/ elastomer strap that the H2R uses.

My advice is, buy both and let us know in a few months which one you like better!

My boyfriend works on the rig, and I saw his equipment. That was Olight but not sure what model exactly. But he worked in Alberta in Canada, so I guess that comment about cold weather is relevant here.. But it seems like Compass R is better (1200>750 on the distance)

There is Cree XHP50 -led in both lights, most likely 6V configuration.
Let's make some rough calculations:

XHP50 needs something like 1,4-1,5A to give 1238 lm, Lumonite's max.
6V x 1,5A = 9 W.
My guesstimate is, that with losses power consumption is over 10 W.

1 h 40 min in max (1238 lm) means roughly 17 Wh.
Even the highest capacity 18650-cells energy, like Samsung 18650 35E, is ~12 Wh @ 1,5A.
So, it is just impossible to run 1 h 40 min in that power level.

Fortunately search engines and sometimes dictionary can often help a lot.
Lumonite Compass R test -search gave following results:
Runtime in max (cooled) 60 min before stepping down.
Runtime in high 2 h 40 min before stepping down.
Good results imo.

For me 5 lm moonlight and 80 lm low is way too much.
But then there should be one more step...

Cant comment on the other, but i have 2 H2r's and they are awesome. NW flavour is very nice on the eye, the medium level of around 140lm is what i use most of the time, odd high level. Its been dropped many many times and whacked . One drop did kill it eventually at 20ft ish. Sent off and new one back within 3 days......hence why i have 2! Just incase i need to send one off.

I have 2 zebra's, 2 H03's in NW as well, nothing for me comes close. I dont use the built in charging, pointless imho. If you had no other light, what would you use whilst charging? So i swap cells out, using the olights 30Q , just re-wrapped and with a pos pole protector over the neg terminal(on pos end). So swap out, good to go within 10 seconds.......

Just to add, the H2r is a samsung 30Q which is 3000mah, the lumonite is tested with a 3500mah cell. So not really comparable off their actual specs. Either way, its ample on either to run and its always wise to have a spare cell/s anyway. If one os 3hrs, other is 3.5hrs.........does it actually matter that much, Who uses a light right down to that last drop of available mah before charging.......i dont. Most of my cells are above 3.6v when placed on charge...Just thoughts.

Olights imo is one of the best if not the! Its super easy to fit/remove on the fly
