Has reliability of this charger been a problem or is it just me and electronics? My new VP4 Plus worked for one charge cycle and one cell test, went flaky and then died completely.

I'd like a LiIon charger that will handle sizes 10440 - 22650 with a lower than 0.5A charge rate available as well as 1.0A or more. A charger that can handle up to D size NiMN cells would be nice if both capabilities are available in one charger like the XTAR. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I waited three weeks for this charger and now I doubt that I want to try another one, even though the dealer is supposed to replace it.

So which charger is dead, VP4 or Xtar Dragon? Both?

OOps, my bad. I thought it was two chargers like the VC4 and the XTAR Dragon.

Yes Chris, that is true about early failures. In most of my electronics that went bad, it was the "brain" or control chip that failed. It seems that manufacturers of everything from large appliances to small stuff are making more products with poorer quality and programming software.
