Hi use to have one of these in my old flashaholic days .. now I regret selling it.. I've been getting back into the hobby and find myself drawn to the nostalgic incandescent technology. .story short Im looking for an A19 surefire body extender so I can run my old 9p and m3t on two rechargeable cells ..

Thanks .. you guys seen to know more than I do . Reading more into it I see that two 17500 would fit the stock 9p body as is.. what brand 17500 are best for the stock 9p? I see a review that AW measure longer than advertised and he had trouble with then fitting ..

17500 is a bit of an abondoned cell size, they are not popular anymore. The highest quality cells that I know of are the Keeppower 1200mah cells. They are available on Illumination supply.

If you added a one cell extender to your 9P, you could run 2 Keepower 16650's for a total capacity of 5000mah.

Pair of 16650 in series will make 7.4 volt @ 2500mAh.
BTW, Keeppower 16650 (2500mAh) is when charged to 4.35 volt.
Above batteries charged to 4.2 volt will have capacity of approximately 2000mAh.
Please see

Yes Fivemega, the biggest problem with the Keeppower 16650's is the engineers set the protection circuit to trip before the cell achieves 4.35V! Therefore it cannot be fully charged.

Oveready is Currently out of stock but they offer them.I looked for 6 months before I found my A19. They must be pretty rare.

Re: Wtb: SureFire A19 adaptor

I ended up trying the Keeppower 17500s from illumn. Its a neat size cell.. i like them. I used them with a P91 on the first few tryouts around the neighborhood. I was impressed by the large wall of bright white light it put out. Then I read more old threads on here (am still going through reading, with much enjoyment, the hundreds of incandescent threads from the past decade ive been away.. i like that im in to learning more technical electronic detail of flashlight on my return to the hobby vs just collecting surefires from early 2000s heyday and being content with running primaries or the now extinct 17670s with my old PILA IBC charger)..and now I see that some users recommend not running 17500s on a lamp that draws over 2A..
So to be on the safe side i swapped out the P91 for a LF EO-9 which i believe is right at 2A.
I bought several 16650s that ive enjoyed using with an EO-4 and other 2xcell size surefire body setups. Most recently i got some IMR 16340s to try out with different setups..
anyway I'm wanting to use the P91 again ( im seeing the 16340s arnt great for p91, so ive used them with a P90 for now).. I want to go rechargeable for my MN16 so im looking into an extender again I can use the 16650s.

Each 35mm ExCap will add space for one C123A cell.
Your excap looks like a good setup, that may be what I end up getting so I can use the 16650s. Does the bore size make a difference when used on an unbored surefire body?

Re: Wtb: SureFire A19 adaptor

I see that some users recommend not running 17500s on a lamp that draws over 2A.
That recommendation was based on 2C (2Xcapacity) from the time each 17500 was 1000mAh.
Now days, 17500 cells are 1200mAh so 2C will be 2.4A (As long as protected cells can power up initial spike.)
---
Again each
35mm ExCap will add space for one C123A cell.
So, unbored 6P with 35mm ExCap plus pair of 17500 will do the job. (7.4V, 1200mAh)
People who are interested for longer run time, can use:
Bored out 6P with 35mm ExCap plus pair of 18500 (7.4V, 2000mAh)
Or unbored 6P with 69mm ExCap plus pair of 16650 (7.4V, 2000mAh)
Or bored out 6P with 69mm ExCap plus pair of 18650 (7.4V, 3500mAh)
