What’s your long runtime Malkoff setup?

Figured this might be fun and a good way to get new ideas. So what drop in host and batteries are you using to get the best runtimes with? List Real world runtimes if you got um.

I have done quite a bit of testing with my stuff and need to find all my data so I'll post mine as soon as I find it. But off the top of my head my M61LLL V3 in a Huge 4XAA Host is the winner. 100 hours of good light off of 4 primaries.

What voltage are your primaries producing at 100 hours of runtime on that setup? I assume you've dropped out of regulation (3.4V), so how many lumens is the output?

I have 10+ year-old 1xAA lights that produce usable light at 100 hours.

They were well under a half volt each. At 35 hours it finally dropped to what my Malkoff AA puts out on low. Then went to the 100 hours at less then a lumen for sure. You could still read by it but just. And yes other lights would kick it's butt in runtimes. Hell, my Malkoff AA will run on low for over 200 hours. I'm just basically talking about the M61 platform.

I'm going to say the tail started around 36 hours. Up till that point it was easily twice as bright as my malkoff on low. As to when it fell out of regulation I'm not sure exactly.

It really was just a test to see how it would perform. It didn't really do to good imo. The 218's are not very efficient.

Them m61WLLLL That are in the GB should be a fantastic long running setup.

MD 1.5 hi/lo switch, ZR Shorty, 18650 running M61L 219b, small package, good runtime on high, "forever" on low, but no runtime data on it, sorry.

M61LLL 219v3 in an MD3/MDX22.3 with 3 CR123, though the LLL might get booted by the WLLLL when it arrives. Also have a WC on an MD4 with 2 x 18650, but thinking that host/battery combo would provide some really long runtimes with an LLL or LLLL. On paper the M61LLL will run for something like 22 hours on a single 18650 (3500/125 x .8).

Yes right now my M61LLL V3 is in my G3. 1,2,or 3 primaries or 2XAA. But the 219s are not very efficient. My LLL draws almost the same as a regular M61LL.Thats why I'm so stoked about the LLLL.

This was a while back. But it's what we can expect with your normal led.

Yes but they will go A LOT longer then that at reduced output. My M60 LL has a current draw same as the M61LL and I got a total of 18 hours off of a 16650/2500. The last 5 hours or so is 5-10 lumens and at the end it's down to 1-2 but still usable. I'm guessing this M61LLLL will go 100 hours total off of a 18650/3500. Even longer off of 2XAA's. One of mine is going in a 3 cell the other in a 18650 host. Probably an MD2 with hi/lo.

I have a M61LLL that I run on 18650 and a M31LL on 2AA. Both have identical output...I've never compared runtimes.

Your guess is as good as mine, PSM. I'm not even sure those runtime and current values both correlate to the same cell type, so I wouldn't put much faith in them. Those current specs seem low compared to what Gene shows for 2xCR123, so it doesn't make sense that they would be for 1x li-ion either.
