    What about a M61LLLL Amber? Or 3L, 2L, etc.
Iíd be interested in amber for the M61 drop-in and Iíll buy multiples.

If anyone else has that kind of interest, sign me up.
Alright.... Hell...You got me! Iíll take one of each flavor.

That amber is so gentle on the eyes at night :-)

I'm sure Gene still has plans to make something around these lines. Not sure why I haven't added anyone to the interest list. I'll add me and you now and check for others. I can inquire as to the possibility of either just going for it and sending him 20 /w/e OSRAM w1s for reflectors, or if we ask about possible optic use?

I'm going to be writing him shortly RE the LLLL GB. I'll poke....

The only colored LED I forsee in the near future is the hyper red and we are struggling to get enough interest in that. Unless you are willing to buy 20, in which case, you should source the LEDs and send them to Gene asking for 20 of one kind.

Amber wouldn't be better than a warm white light anyways, especially if it were HCRI, but a 70CRI light next to an amber light is going to look 10x better especially in low light, your eyes will struggle less with details and translating everything from yellow.

You may be right, but Amber is so nice! (Can you tell I like amber?)
I didnít know that Gene would take requests (within reason) for smaller builds like that.
    Good info to know.

Iíll keep my fingers crossed for the 4L we have going at the moment.

    thanks!

I'd be interested in a hyper red and an amber if it got off the ground.

I would love it to happen, I'll prod Gene when I send him a heads up about the LLLL and to make sure he still has emitters.

If we did one run ourselves, would you prefer optic-based? If so, would you care if it could only fit MDx heads? I'd kinda like to see what a WF1 ends up doing in one of the tasty McLeish reflectors..... I'm betting the Malkoff production run of these will be MDx/ optic based.

I'm actually open to the idea of having him do a whole run myself. I bet they would sell if they were here. I'd have to sell a couple lights first but man that would be sweet!

Last I talked with him and as has been standard for some time, if you are willing to buy 20x of whatever specific product (meaning "M61*L*" specifically, not just 'M61s, but different x or y') then he will do it. Anyone can do this at roughly any time. Turnaround time is between 3 and 6 weeks. Most often 4.

Safe to say this is a go, now is just how many we will need. I've been gradually working on the GB post but between this, buying a house, and USCIS paperwork it's taking a bit longer...... I WILL have it up by Saturday I promise!

What 23 or so for the 4Lís? Probably the most popular item I have seen for a GB. They really are the best. Huge runtimes, capable of running On many different cells And Malkoff tough. Itís a trifecta😂😂😂

Sorry for the delay everyone I'll be posting the GB tomorrow, I just wanted to get clearance from BEB and K regarding a slight change to procedures- I'll be adding roughly $2 (I'll note exact price when determined) to the cost simply due to time required. This idea is I get 1 dropin covered by the GB, not actual money/ "profit".

Hopefully this is OK by all participants. I will make sure to note this in the GB as well, figured I'd also do it here because it's easier to see for all currently interested parties. I'll also reserve post 2/3 for a disclaimer noting such. I love running these, it's just a large time-sink at the end of the day especially shipping. Nothing is totally set in stone.

Friendly reminder: don't worry about getting your name in the right amount on here this list is like points on Whose Line is it Anyway? Also please don't PM me about GB things (no apologies necessary, just wanna nip that in the bud...)

Jeeze happy to eat my words and see an amber LED come out. Is there any preferred or favored amber LED?

I'm already signed up for the LLLL group buy. I would definitely purchase a Neutral M61 HOT and an M91 High CRI, and, if Gene could find a way to engineer a high/low ring for the MDC/Bodyguard style lights, I would buy all 20 of them myself to get a group buy going.

    Hey Dot,

    You can put me down for 1 x M61 SST-20 4000K

    thanks.

I don't think there would be enough room in the threads between the body and the head for any sort of part to fit inside. I think the solution here would be an "adapter" section that we would machine out with E-series threads and a resistor in the middle of the current path. Perhaps this is worth talking with Martin D White about. That seems like a more plausible route for this to occur. But I'm not a machinist....

How about a M361 TAC H-M-L? Maybe in a led that Gene already has on hand?

The problem with that is it really wouldnít be useful as a TAC light as it could still come on in medium or low. Depending on how you last used it.

What are people using the amber for? It seems like it would have a specific application but itís not one I can think of.

    Seems weird. Enlighten me.
