    Thanks for the answers.

Iím picturing in my head the exact opposite of what I want. When I unscrew the the head, the small silver adapter stays up inside the head instead of staying screwed to the 18650 body. It is then a witch to unscrew the silver adapter from the E2XT head. this doesnít happen with my E2 Super Head; the silver adapter stays screwed to the 18650 body.

Trying to unscrew the adapter from the E2XT head is how I found out where the E2XT head comes apart into two pieces.

I use nyogel, superlube or haynes

You could always add a drop or two of some oil like remoil or nano oil
I put a bit of Haynes on the head side when I first received it. Iíll try some Nano next.

I really wish the tail cap unscrewed on the 18650 body. The E adapter is the weak link in that setup. I've already had to order some new adapters from Gene.

By getting jammed in the head, and using a 1mm thick piece of brass bar to unscrew. The threads got flared out. Look to the left of the top notch.

I changed out the o-ring on the new one to a smaller diameter and that solved the problem for me with getting the head stuck

That is the only reason I haven't bought one of those bodies yet. I saw that reducer when it first came out and thought I just don't like it. I almost got one, had it in my cart but backed out.

Lucky you. The adapter is the weak link to the design. Would of been more durable to have a removable tailcap.

THIS is exactly the problem that I was trying to describe. It sucks for sure.

The adapter stopped staying in the head though with a smaller o-ring?

Yes, a smaller o-ring solves the issue.

Iíd definitely let gene know about the issue , and your solution.

Tac has an issue with a mdc body, later on I noticed so did I, but he emailed gene and he fixed it immediately afterwards and now the mdc bodies will never have that issue again.

If your oring solution works and solves the issue he may replace that oring with a smaller one to prevent further occurrences from happening

I let him know the issue when I ordered replacement parts. He is aware of the issue, but not the problem. I will send him a email now to make him aware. Solid advice bud, thanks.

    Hi guys,

Is there any other 18650 body for the Malkoff E heads, besides the Malkoff 18650 body?

Oh, so it is possible to have the E2XT(D) + Oveready E70 + Z40, which would solve your adapter problem, right @Fish 14?

Here are some of my lights I consider true throwers, 200 lumen hds is not, but used as a point of reference.. Beamshot photos are in the order as they are in group photos. Fenix TK61VN ,S200c2VN, E2SHT (E2XTD), E2ht ,TX25C2VN, HDS, control.
In my opinion Genes lenses do better than the reflector of the same size, in terms of throw. Although, E2SHT is using acebeam high discharge 16340, reading almost 3A at tailswitch. Using 18650 could still increase the output by some margin.

Very true, my e2ht filled the spot as my main weapon mounted light. I'm getting ready to head out to my property and take care of some coyotes.

Why? Because of the additional runtime, or the extra spill?

  28. #88

Runtime, and the smaller diameter head is more visually pleasing.

My use for e2ht is for the times when I am dressed for a lighter carry, but still want to accompany my main task light with a potent thrower.

Basically I want an e-mount thrower. This will be a second light that I use only if I want to spot something. Primary will be a more floody light. Runtime for the spotter isnít as important for my use. I may even use it on an e35 body. What would you guys suggest?
