Not sure which I want to use as my car light, one of the HCRIs, or one of the bright XP-G2 5000Ks, that should be 45-50~ lumens, maybe a bit more. They were much more efficient than the 3000K and 4000K..

Yep a 5000K LLLL is what I have been waiting for all this time. Me and warms donít really get along but the W GB came out first and really wanted a 4L. Iím happy with them but when I get my 5000 K I think I will finally be content.

Ah hopefully this isn't too annoying, soon I would like to post a link to my comment #121 For M61 LLLL stats in the first comment of this thread, that way everyone wanting to find that runtime/ output information can be directed to it easily.

dot, I posted the link, what do you want me to call it?

I posted: FOR RUNTIME AND OUTPUT LEVELS GO HERE. I used all Caps. to get attention. Do you want me to add for all LLLL's and you separate them in post #121 as we are now bringing in a third generation of the amazing LLLL series?

    Let me know.

Perfect, that will work fine. One link should be fine, I will put all generations in that post! I'll update my current W M61 LLLL graph and throw that up tonight.

    Thanks Red!

    Dot,

With my tests would you like me to make a separate graph or send them to you and you can update yours, that way itís all compiled?

You already have the outputs of each battery type , mine will just be runtimes

31 hours 30 minutes. M61W LLLL on 2x 17500 shut off. Both cells around 2.9V- protected 1200mAh Keeppowers.

    Lot less than I thought. Now to try 18650 and 16650. Using the weird-as-hell Solarforce L2E right-angle P60- that doesn't fit most p 60s....

    Edited post- 1200mAh

Typo in the posted current image, when a few more runtime tests finish I'll correct it with the updated spec sheet.

Your runtime should be close to triple of a 3500mah then, correct?

Your math is funky. 2x 1200= 2400 mAh/ 40ma = 60 hrs. 3500mAh/ 50ma= 72 hrs. It would appear Thermal is correct, these seem to perform worse on 2x li-ion.

2x1200mah? In series, right? Voltage doubled, not capacity. 1200 maH / 40ma = 30 hrs.

What surprises me about TGs results is that 2x18650 at 8.2-8.4v and 3500mah (useable) should be 3500mah / 40ma = 87.5 hrs.
    1x18650 at 4.1-4.2v and 3500mah should be 3500 / 50 = 70 hrs.
Bit he reports single runs longer. Very surprising. Maybe the pro circuit is messing up the Physics?

I am a moron. LOL. I am very new to running cells in series. I'm used to my multi-cell lights being set up in parallel. GREAT catch Lion!

My guess, if this is true, would be that one of the cells getting lower first, if protected, shuts off first, breaking the circuit? We'll know soon enough, heh! Thanks for all the work everyone, we will have TONS of good practical data on these 4Ls.

Thatís is correct. Every test I have done with multiple protected Lithiums has gone the same way. One with conk out ďtripĒ the other will have a ton of Juice left. Running unprotected cells might be a fix. And 31 hours off of 1200 mah is pretty good Iím thinking. It was probably full output all the way. My 2XAA is at 57 hours and hasnít changed in output in the last 10 hours. Itís roughly the same output as my Malkoff AA on low and that is actually a lot of light for dark adapted eyes. No problem walking around or seeing 10 feet.

Check out post 1097 in the 91 thread. Done by someone with actual equipment.

Different animal of course but you can see at 2.25 hours the 3X18650 nosedived zero taper it just shuts off. The single 18650 continued on for another 2 hours. The lumens difference is huge because the M91ís output is huge. The difference would not be very much in our case with a module only putting out 30 lumens.

Unprotected cells are the smart choice.
