Default Is TURBOGLOW worth the money?

Anything dimmer than the Green and Aqua TURBOGLOW/HYPERGLOW is a bit of a disappointment but Green, the brightest colour afaik, never fails to impress me.

    It's very pricey though!

I have one flashlight with a green glow gasket, one flashlight with copper Cryos head, one flashlight with auxiliary leds, one light that is cerakoted, and one that is marketed as "tactical", out of 27 modern performance lights. Why? because when I selected lights on the basis of beam performance/beam profile to host size ratio, those five lights just plain old came that way.

My FW3a with green glow gasket is ok with me. It would be a bit much in MS18, I think, but maybe not?
Think of how evil the average person is, and realize half of them are eviler than that.

Well, the title of this thread is what I ask: Are they worth it, and are they any good?

All the GID items I have glow like crazy when you hit them with light like the Cat does in the video but, in just a few minutes, they are dim, and really not worth it to me. I would love it if they would glow bright for at least 2-3 hours.

So, are the Turboglow products any good, are they special from standard GID items? I am not familiar with the brand so I ask what say you?

Also, the video provides zero information, nothing!

    Best,

i doubt there is any GITD material that can sustainably glow for 2 hours.

    Seattle,

I agree, it is all the same. None of it worth it in my opinion.

That video was an OoooAhhh look at that two minute wonder!

Well, theoretically it still could help you find the flashlight that you dropped, within minutes after turning it off . Also, in some scenarios it can serve as a firefly mode, for a brief duration. All it takes is to flash on high inside pocket or pressed against palm, to not disturb night vision.

    Sparky,

Yes, but after a few short minutes no GID items are worth attaching to any gear. Frankly, with rechargeable batteries, I wish all lights came with a marker beacon like HDS.

I have tossed many GID items recently.

That or install parts that can accept tritium vials. I often attach Niteize keychains to my flashlights.

Come on guy's, if all these GID products only glow for less than two minutes, it is nothing but a little kids toy. None of this GID stuff rises to the level of high quality production lights, not to mention customs.

RL, depends how you mixture powder/epoxy. Blue is allways few minutes on max where green lasts up to an hour.
Itís fun just like flashlights we ate talking about

That's what I understand about the powder, and if the green would glow very bright for an hour I could live with that, two hours would be ideal.

IMHO they are not worth it. Iíve had glow gaskets on mid to high end lights and they seem very gimmicky. Having a moonlight or secondary beacon on the other hand can be very useful.
