    Default SOLD: Surefire L4 Digital Lumamax, excellent condition.

    Sold: Surefire L4 Digital Lumamax, excellent condition. Takes 2x Surefire CR123 batteries, (included). Individually serial numbered KL4 LED head, with a Light Orange Peel (LOP) reflector for that perfect combo of hot spot and spill. Hard Anodized III in Surefire gray / green, with a hard press clicky tail. Half press = momentary; full press+click for on / off. Has the short and very strong Surefire pocket clip, with the lanyard attachment point. There is a thick o-ring in the groove around the KL4 head, which protects it nicely. A few flecks of ano off the head, otherwise pristine and fully functional. Great old school Surefire: lights up what you want to see, and doesn't blind you in the process. LED color is cold white with a Cyan tinge. E-series threads and O-rings seals at both ends. Asking $90, $80, $70 SOLD + shipped. USA, to your PayPal address. Thanks for looking.

    Is the KL4 of early incarnation? Can't see the pics clearly but I think I spot the A-prefix which points to Lux5 with a boost driver inside...

    Those LuxV SureFire models were very well driven, and are great candidates for an upgrade to a "6V" (i.e. 2s2p) 4000K
    XML-EZW (or its successor - I haven't kept up since having two of my LuxV SF's upgraded in such a fashion).

    The boost driver should also work well with a single 16650 cell (OP, would it fit ?); delivering ~90% of the rated output compared to the standard 2xCR123 config, with resulting runtimes of /considerably/ longer duration.

    I remember not so long ago members would purchase a handful of luxeon 5 led surefire models and test them all to pick the best tint out of the bunch.. then resell the others. The tints were all over the place.. greens, purples, blues... sometimes you'd have to go through ten or more lights to find one close to cool white that you liked enough to keep as a user, but even the best ones were still very blue. The surefire L4 was the pinnacle wall of light in a small edc package at that time and was REALLY bright for that era in leds. Just dont leave it on for extended periods because the head gets too hot to touch after a few minutes.

    What is seems the problem? Is it the problems from reproducing consistent quality of Lexeon 5 led back then?

    Unfortunately a 16650 will NOT fit into the E-body completely.

    I tried, but something down the tail side is blocking the battery from sliding in completely, leaving the top side exposed.

    Your post made me curious as I've only used 17670s in my l4 so I tried the only brand (Orbtronic) 16650 I have and it fit and powered the light just fine. What brand 16650s have you tried in the ebody?

    He must be referring to a newer gen E body light.

    You need to be more specific on which bodies are considered older-gen.

    For the record I have a few current "three rounds" ones which NO single 16650/17670 would fit in completely.
    Maybe the older two-flats one would yield a better bit? I don't know, could be, but I've never checked.

    Hey. I just got the light. Looks good, feels good and smells good. Thanks lightknot. Oh btw, I have Sanyo 16650 button top works fine. Flat top didn't.

    So you're lucky enough to have a three-rounds E2e body that accepts the 17670/16650 without issue.

    I tested the five E-bodies which I own. Results:
    1. E2e (three rounds #1/HA3 OD): won't fit (battery won't slide in completely);
    2. E2e (three rounds #2/HA3 OD): same as (1);
    3. E2e (two flats/HA3 OD): fits down to tailcap switch spring without issue;
    4. E2d Incan Defender (three rounds #1/HA3 HB): same as (3);
    5. E2d Incan Defender (three rounds #2/HA3 HB): same as (3).

    BTW I use AW 17670 and Keepower 16650, all protected variants.
