Hi all! Picking the collective brain here. I'm looking for a single cell AA or AAA light. Forward clicky. Pocketclip. I know of Malkoff's MDC and McGizmo's AA offerings. Okluma DC0 is 14500 only, so a non-starter. Must take NiMH or 1.5v primaries. I ordered in a Pelican 1910 AAA but am still looking for recommendations. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm having a Sigma Hyperion being built for me, with a 15VP AA driver. It's a reverse clicky light though. The driver may work in a Okluma DC0 maybe?

My database was made for this sort of thing :) Plugging in 1xAAA or 1xAA with a clip and both momentary and tail switches returns 44 possible lights. With more details about your preferences I could narrow it down further. Some highlights:

  • $20 Olight i3T EOS
  • $28 Thrunite Archer 1A V3 (if a side switch for modes is okay)
  • $30 Olight i5T EOS
  • $31 Streamlight Protac 1AAA
  • $36 Pelican 2350
  • $38 Fenix LD09
  • $40 Armytek Partner A1
  • $50 Klarus XT1A
  • $50 Darksucks Preon P1 Mk3

I know this isn't as helpful as others' suggestions, but the custom AA (Spyglass) made by my buddy @calipsoii is still one of my very favorite torches.

It is always surprising to me that the "forward clicky single AA" form factor remains relatively sparse in terms of quality options

I know it's been discontinued for a while, but if you can find one, I recommend the JETBeam BA10. It's bigger and more robust than other 1xAA lights, but its clip, forward clicky, NiMH AA / 14500 compatibility, and low/high mode via a quick turn of the head ticks all your boxes, including mine. :)
