Nice review. Now we just need to find out how to mod the circuit to feed 1 amp to a Lux3. -RussH

Update- 2 Questions have arisen about the Vortec TC2 light. Any feedback from the 'experts' on CPF would be appreciated. Here's a copy of a PM reply that illuminates the issues------
My flashlight review -error ?
Hi
RE: "It's not possible to hard anodize aluminum on the inside of an aluminum case without some very specialized equipment setup. " ... In my review page, I copied the Quick Facts 'marketing' info from an 'average' of several websites that carry this product. ( long URL's can be a problem. You might want to copy/paste the long ones in 'chunks' so you don't lose any parts of them. The Vortex and Countrycom sites 'quietly' changed thier blurb after my review- I'll amend mine to read "Hard Anodized" only. Looking inside the battery tube, it is indeed anodized, the same as the outside. I can't confirm if it's hard or soft anodizing or weather or not its type I,II,III or IV ! I scrapped with a sharp knife and indeed, it seems very resilient to that. In addition RE "HA is non conductive and not desired on the threads and insides of flashlights."...There is NO anodizing on the threads. They anodized the inside of the battery compartment, then cut the threads later - looks very tidy to my untrained eye.So, if a CPF expert/veteran chooses to buy one and give us a more definitive answer on the anodizing- I'll gladly add it to my review. As an aside- you'll notice that the different sites I list claim the output for the TC2 as variously 25 Lumens or 40 Lumens-a big difference even if only technical! I don't have the euipment or own enough 1W luxeons to verify or refute either the 25 or 40 Lumen claim. I'll leave it up to LED Museum or Flashlight Reviews , MrBulk or others to give us real numbers. Finally, I never set out to review this product for any other reason than to satisfy one CPF member's curiosity & special request - Stainless asked for it. I don't do technical product reviews, only Usability and Human Factors Performance related ones .Unless there is renumeration involved, the Vortex review is likely to be my last. Thanks again for your comments- it'll be nice to get the facts on this...and other 'clones' streaming in from Asia - so we can make informed buying decisions- that are based on verifiable facts and not on marketing Hype.
Respectfully
