HCRI, 18350 or 16340, and floody?

I'm looking for a light to use on my hardhat at work, primarily for looking in electrical cabinets. I have a modified Acebeam H20 now that runs off of 18650 batteries and it's been great, but I'd like something smaller and lighter. After searching, I haven't been able to find anything that matches what I'm looking for. Is anyone aware of a light that meets all these requirements?

-High CRI (A must for looking at old faded control wires)

-Approximately 1000 lumens turbo/high. I typically only need that amount of light for a short amount of time.

-Approximately 500 lumens continuous.

-No defined hot spot. I need to light everything evenly in my field of vision.

-Warm to neutral tint - 4000K to 5000K

-Small batteries such as 18350 or 16340

For reference, the Zebralight H604C is basically the ideal light for me except for the size and weight.

Thanks!

Coke9, I think it will be impossible to get 500 lumens continuous out of a small battery, difficult even with 18650. Good luck with your search. Have you looked at Skylumens?

I was gonna recommend the zebralight until I saw you mention it was too big and heavy, I don't think anything will come close to that. They are tiny for 18650 lights too.

The "floody" part can easily be accomplished with diffusion film on the lens

I have a few lights with diffused lenses, and some still have a hot spot. For the type of work I'm doing, pure flood or mule style lights are best.

Just buy the Zebralight H604C and use a battery spacer that allows you to run an 18350. You are not likely to find ANY 18350 light that weighs less than the Zebralight 18650, which is 1.4 oz. Total weight with 18350 will be 2.1 oz. Or run it with an 18650 for a total weight of 3.1 oz, and it will last THREE times longer than the 18350.

Or to go ultralight, run the H604C with a 16340, which will have the same capacity as the 18350. Total weight will be 1.96 oz. Only issue there is I don't know if there are any unprotected 16340s, so you may not be able to pull the brightness or run times you have asked for. You can definitely do that with a 3 oz 18650 H604C.

FourSevens Mini Turbo II will come close to your "high" continuous requirement at 300 lumens and it will weigh 1.2 oz. But the color is cooler than you want and won't be high CRI. Also it's twist operated, which SUCKS for a headlamp.

Thanks for the idea. I already have the Zebralight so I might give it a try.
