Hi All...
I got an alligator hunting permit, for the 1st time in like a dozen years. I need some new equipment, particularity a new light. I used to use a 4DMaglite w/an upgraded led build and an aspherical lens. At 100+ yrds it would throw a crisp square beam , where I could see the led grid. I loved it, but lost it somewhere along the way. Before I go down to rabbit hole of trying to source something similar, I thought about asking y'all, as I've not kept up w/the tech for many years. Here are some of my wishes/specs; long throw, durable , I can source power from a 12v if needed, but it would be nice to have it cordless/more portable. As long a run time as possible, although I typically only use for for short bursts, 30 secs or less. I hunt in a duck hunting boat, not an airboat, so I don't really need a headlamp. I'm pretty handy w/both tools and electronics , so I could probably build or hack something together , w/some guidance. Any ideas? Thoughts/Comments are much appreciated. Thx.
