Just spotted this on battery juncyion's website but I don't think they are in the wild yet.

The addition of a tail clicky might make this the true successor to the SWM V11R.

Things I'm excited about:
Convenience of clicky switch for on-off
18350, 18500, and 18650 support with extenders
Available with XP-L and 219C high CRI (color temp not specified)

Things I'm not excited about:
Still advertises CR123 support so it's probably still unregulated and has no over discharge protection
Still has strobe and sos modes
Same problem the V11R had where you need to change grip to operate switch and control ring

What say ye?

The Rotary only UI (turn on at lowest) was my one dislike of the RRT01. I've been waiting for this one to come out since hearing about it.

And there's triple (optic) RGB version also...
This one is called Raptor due to clicky

Where did you see the triple version? Sounds cool.

This new RRT01 looks great. I always wished it had a clicky like my V11R (or that the V11R could go as low). I bought an older RRT0 Raptor thinking it would do the trick but there is a long delay when you click the switch before the light turns on. Makes momentary pretty useless. Hopefully this is fixed with the RRT01 Raptor.

Thanks! Very interesting. I wonder how the mode/colour switching will work. And I'm liking that "humanized tail design". :)

Think I'll hold out for the RRT-03. RGB sounds interesting.

I'm also not impressed with my high-CRI 219C lights. They're pretty dim compared to XPL or XPL HI. And the Nichias don't have good R9, so reds don't pop with them. When I want high-CRI I reach for a light with 4000K SST-20. And based on previous Jetbeams, I figure I would have no problem modding either of these lights to the emitter of my choice.

Now you mention it, it is surprising they went with the 219c. It was the go-to high CRI choice a while ago, but SST20 seems to be taking over recently and would be a better choice for a new light. I'd probabbly be equally happy with either though.

I'm not speaking for anyone else but myself, the new design has a day late and dollar short feel to it. I have several of the original RRT01 with hard sought bodies that fit everything from 1 AA and 2 AA to 18650, etc. etc.
I prefer the smaller circumference and dial response of the original design. And recent mods to the original design allow for near new version lumen output and even salt water immersion with the addition of custom teflon rings and washers. No more axle grease. I thoroughly disliked the relube process and lube longevity.
It just feels like a 8 year old answer to me, and making the torch larger and heavier to boot with some minor driver and emitter changes.

Should the RRT-0 and its variants also be included? I still have an old R5 version as a quickly accessible light sitting on my kitchen counter.

- 2011 (?) Jetbeam RRT0 R5 (255lms), Yes infinitely variable, tailswitch, 16340
- 2011 (?) Jetbeam RRT0 S2 (260lms?), Yes infinitely variable, tailswitch, 16340, AA

Good points. I was hoping for an XPL-HI version as that could be easily accommodated with the 18650 multi-fuel option. However, that SST-20 emitter is an intriguing thought.
