I have good news and bad news.
First the good news...
The good news is that the Samsung 5000k HICRI is now done being tested.
This will be the new HDS Limited HICRI emitter choice.
In the HDS, they produce 90 CRI on max and go up to 92 CRI as the power is decreased.
The hotspot is rather large (Hogo's horrible beam shots to come later tomorrow)
The output is 300 lumens. Yes. Three zero zero. Three hundred lumens.

The bad news. Some of you are going to be broke.

OK. You all should know by now I loath beam shots and crossing the beams... AND that I suck on toast at beam shots.
You can't tell what your eye is going to see tint wise from what the camera (or phone) is set to white balance, your computer monitor, your old decrepit eyes... etc. But, you can see compare the hot spots... sort of.

Samsung 5000k vs 5400k (only the 5400 will be available in special metal lights. The 5000k will be available in standard lights.)

Damn it. Now I'm on the fence on jumping on the stainless steel run. That would pair really well with a 5700k Samsung emitter.

Thanks for the good news! I hope there will be horrible beamshots with the 5400 K too, so that we can cross beams and see the differencies between these two.[emoji3]

Does this mean the 5000k won't be available until the SS40 are all sold?

Will probably put the Samsung 5000k up on Monday if Henry isn't dead.
We are almost out of the SS40 that are potted in heads. Only a couple left. What remains are mounted SS40s that will be reserved for BeCu and SS. So pretty much, if someone wants an SS40 in a non-special metal light, time is about out.
