The new B6 V2 looks great: https://www.skyrc.com/Charger/iMax/b6v2

It have for example a DC-DC Mode. For some unknown reason it cant go below 5V. Have someone understood why? Is the output unstable below 5V with no load and thats why they disabled under 5V in their firmware?

The opensource firmware replacement https://github.com/stawel/cheali-charger when it gets support for the B6v2 CPU ( STM32F103 ) would maybe make it possible to remove the limits and test that out.

Such an ancient platform.

I'd say look at FMA/Revolectrix (CellPro), Hitec , iCharger (Junsi), ISDT and Hyperion instead.

How are the ones you list different?

Newer better designs, better consistency in build quality, lots more features.

I looked at cellpro powerlab 6. Much more expensive but more powerful. Otherwise in terms of functionality seems similar to b6. What am I missing?

I am not going to spend a lot of time debating point by point on the feature set.

Accuracy and longevity alone make the higher price worthwhile IMO.

Personally I find CC load testing for accurate capacity using external resistors to be worth it even if it did not work as a charger.

Obviously your money, your call, just trying to help.
