So I'm relatively new to the world of flashlights, but am a big EDC junkie. I am in the market for a custom light, but availability seems scarce, and I would like to better educate myself on the internals of these lights. I was looking into the mcgizmo haiku, tain aurora, overready boss 35, or the ti2 Pele. I'm leaning more towards the boss 35 but can not find one for sale. I was wondering which of these lights would be the best light for the money and why and also what would be the best source to acquire one.

Have a look at hdssystems.com.
They make bombproof cr123 lights, with a fantastic warranty.
Although the site is a bit old fashioned, there's a lot of information there, including pictures of the internals.
There's an HDS forum on here..
https://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?229-HDS
That'll keep you occupied for a few hours.
Also take a look at malkoffdevices.com for the mdc range, not as versatile as the HDS, but very robust.
Good luck with your search.
