Please stay with me on this. I'm getting to the PM effect, promise...
My pond has a green, floating Chlorella algae. I didn't know what type of "pond scum" this was until I rubber-banded a 17x loupe over an iPhone XR lens and imaged these small particles on various materials so as to see them better. I shot them on a black surface and then on the clear lens of a Manker E14II with 4 Nichia 219c's on a 120L level. Some PM was seen only at a higher camera angle...

No PM from the Manker lens at this 45d angle.
PM scan lines when the camera angle (>60d) was more vertical over the LEDs...
I thought it was unexpected and interesting that the PM of the Manker only caused 'interference' with the scan rate of the iPhone camera at a higher angle...
