Looking for rechargeable CR123 recommendations

I have some EBL cells, but 2 of the 4 are dead after maybe 15-20 charges. I looked for a recommendation or comparison thread, but the only thing I found was 7 years old. Is there a newer one or just some experience with batteries that last?

Thanks.

Hello and welcome !

CPF member @HKJ does extensive testing and review of a wide range of cells, and those are published here in this subforum.

You could search for the individual reviews, or go to HKJ's website for the comprehensive comparison tools.

Thanks for the response. Is there a link to the website you mentioned?

Thanks again.

Lygte is the place to go for information.
Look for 16340 li ion cells, rather than rechargeable CR123.
I'm also using Vapcell, HKJ rates them well, they are the newest INR technology and as far as I know a new batch came on the market about 4 weeks ago. The previous batch ran out about 6 months since.

Some lights that are CR123A-only will fry on 3.6V/3.7V 16340 Li-ion. I expect that is the purpose of the rechargeable CR123A @ 3.2V, and I wish they would just label them IFR or LiFePO4. Marketing always screws up the technical details. For lights that can handle 16340, they are preferred for more capacity and higher voltage, resulting in more runtime and a brighter light.

Such a good point. It really is damn confusing.
Thanks for stopping me fry his light.

I think that might be a Haiku - the poem, not the torch.

Two alternate cells
Only three volts ... or four plus
No light this winter

I have a pair of Uniross 16340s that are serving me well and have been for a couple of years now, just make sure you don`t let them get too low (my lights don`t have a low batt warning).
