Fenix PD 30 and 16650?

Hey
just cleaning out stuff and found my First High End Flashlight
Fenix PD 30
love the size and fit and now, LOL, the nostalgia

always hated the two CR 123's

can the light, UN modded handle a 16650??

any first hand experiance?
brand reccomendations

A 16650 is 3.7 volts. Way under 2X123 so ya it can handle it no problem. If it will work is another matter.Not sure if it will operate at that voltage you can try it though you shouldn't hurt anything

Yes. Been using protected button top Orbtronic 2500 mAh 16650 cells in mine for awhile. They work in my older P3D Q5 as well, but they shut off quicker due to the higher voltage l.e.d. and have to be loaded from the head of the light side (tail end is too narrow). No issues with the PD30.
