I carry my SF E1 in my pocket DAILY and the lens has gotten terribly scratched. Please help me understand how I can change that lens out. Can I order a replacement from SF or buy one somewhere and HOW do I take the old one out?

Thanks-
David

Welcome to CPF!

That I'm aware of, there is no lens replacement kit for the [discontinued] E1.

Perhaps it's time to get an E1e which features a Pyrex (glass) lens?

Exactly my sentiments! Get the E1e. It is cool and the Pyrex lens is rather scratch resistant. Fix on a KL4 and you have a nice flood light which far surpassed the original incandescent beam of the E1 or E1e. Well of course you may choose to stick with your E1 and just spend the money on a KL4 LED head. Trust me, you wouldn't want to go back to the incand after you tried the KL4.

Buy the E1E or E2E bezel for it, on Ebay. The Pyrex lens lets more of those photons out too. You won't have a pocket clip anymore, but that's not a great loss. I never liked the pocket clip on the E1 and E2.

Or perhapes just upgrade your E1 with a KL1 or KL4 head?
