Do you switch out your EDC light or keep it the same?

I tend to rotate my edc based on what I'm wearing. For example, if I plan on wearing shorts that day, I'll bring a 14500 light like my Lan Ti or Eagtac D3A or a 10440 light like a Preon P1. But if I'm wearing pants then I'll bring a bigger light like my SC64c LE, RRT01, or D4v2.

Do any of you do the same or do you tend to keep your edc the same every day?

I like to rotate my edc lights. I like a lot of edc variety. Lots of edc variety. I used to edc very large lights, but I have settled down to smaller edc lights. My current edc rotation is:

1. Four-Sevens MMU-X3. Oct. 2014, 1,600 lumens, 26650, I purchased from Sears Marketplace/Overstock. I did well selecting my first real light, this permanently classic item will be forever beloved by flashoholics. This light boldly demarcates the division between lights that are smaller than it, and lights that are larger than it.
Nice beam profile, too. There is no way that I could have picked a better item.

7. Olight S2 Baton. Feb. 2016 from GG. ~1,000 lumens, 18650. This item goes with me whenever I have my keys on me, because they are what it is attached to. Much used,
never a bobble.

22. MMU-X3vn 3 x XHP50.2, one-off, Dec. 17, 2019, 5,500 lumens, 346 meters, 30Kcd, 26650.

23. Nitecore TM9KVn, 21700, 9 x stock XP-L2 6500, Jan. 6, 2020, 9,500/268M factory specs, Vinh specs after boost: 9120 lumens, 297 meters, 22Kcd, and improved heat sinking.

24. Nightwatch NSX3vn Jan 27, 2020. 21700, Stock 3 x XHP 50.2 8,000 lumen, 375 meter, 35Kcd. A red hot screamer for its size. Throw is the best of numbers 22 through 25 inclusive, too.

25. Nitecore E4K vn, Jan. 30, 2020. 21700, Factory 4 x XP-L. 4,000 lumens, 261 meters throw. protected/longer length/solder top spring 21700.

26. Emisar D4V2 vn, Feb. 22, 2020, quad W2, 4,020 lumens, 429 meters with throw optics. Single 18650. Midway size between S2 Baton and E4K. After four years, this is the replacement for my super trusty S2 Baton.

27. Lumintop FW3Avn triple W2.1 Feb. 28, 2020, 2,800 lumens, 425 meters throw. 18650.

28. Lumintop FW4Avn, quad W2, throw optic. April 13, 2020, 3,850 lumens, 456 meters throw. Currently the most compact high power single 18650 flashlight, I think. Picture perfect emitter alignment, providing for picture perfect beam pattern.

29, 30 and 31: Three Lumintop 21a Pro Vn, May 26, 2020, single 21700, triple XHP50.2. 9,500 lumens, ~350 meters throw. The next big thing in the Lumintop FW series.

32. and 33: Two Imalent MS03, June 15, 2020. Triple XHP70.2. Single 21700 protected usb-c, or with large solder blob. 9,535 lumens, 313 meters. Smallest triple XHP70.2, I think.

34. Mateminco MT07 vn 7 x W2. June 16, 2020. 8,000 L, 678 M, 115KCD. Very attractive combination of power, throw and size.

35. Astrolux (Mateminco?/Sofirn?) EC03 July 9, 2020. 21700 3 x XHP50.2, 6700 lumens, 303 meters. Factory specs appear to be under reported. Smooth, ample reflector wells and ample SS bezel impart good looks. Much tighter hot spot than other single 21700 3 x 50.2 lights.

36. Noctigon KR1vn SBT90 single 18650 July 24, 2020.

37. Emisar D18vn 18xW2 3x 18650 July 24, 2020. 15,500 lumens, 748 meters throw, in a 3 x 18650 package.

38. and 39: Two more Astrolux(Mateminco?Sofirn?) EC03, August 4, 2020.

I swap around my lights like I pick clothes: sometimes I'm in the mood for one or another. Certain days I carry my Convoy M2 SST20 5000K, others my M1 XM-L2 7A 3000K, others my S2+ Nichia 4000K.

What I don't vary is my backup, a Lumintop EDC01. I don't have any other AAA lights since I lost my Tool CRI.

What did you eventually settle on?

Trouser pocket sized lights are both by PK Design Lab. One is the 1x aaa PL2 with an eneloop pro. The other a PR-1 with the clip removed using a NiteCore RCR. It also has a water bottle cap as a diffuser tagging along.
Larger EDC is an Elzetta Bones with a Speed Clip and wrist strap, using primary fuel.

I had tried a bunch of lights like Klarus P1A (the poor mans Malkoff MD2), Elzetta Alpha, Coast HP1, Solitaire LED, Fenix E01 and other lights but always wanted something a little more of this or a little less of that for my daily uses. The PK Design Lab and Elzetta Bones checked all of my boxes.

My EDC is small, my Thrunite TiS. I have EDCed it for 5 years and never failed me. The Sofirn C01 is on my keychain. I dont want to EDC anything bigger than AAA lights.

I don't rotate EDC flashlights but I have two-three different lights in each vehicle. All I EDC are two keychain lights, a Nitecore Tube and the little Olight I1R. That works for me 99% of the time. Actually, I rarely have need of a flashlight but in my LX470, I carry two day hiking packs and two bugout/get home packs, They each have a flashlight and spare batteries, I also keep an E05 in the center console and a tactical Streamlight Protac 90X in the door pocket as I'm usually armed. That's my *serious* light.

I always have my Thrunite Ti3 suspension clipped inside my left front pocket. The light I keep on my belt changes from day to day.

Almost every light listed in this thread is made in china. I sometimes carry cheap lights and the not caring about loss or damage has its appeal but I prefer carrying malkoff mdcs, muyshondts, arcs, and Surefires. I prefer supporting American producers. Pk design lab looks interesting but think they're gone. Any info?

Nothing wrong with Chinese lights, as long as you buy quality. Good value for what you get. The only US made lights I own are Mags, and I threw them in a junk drawer years ago. Worst LED lights I ever owned. The incans are nice, though. Were 4sevens US made lights? They weren't bad (I have a few), but fell behind the times before going bankrupt. I used to EDC one or two of them a few years ago.

I rotate through most of my other small lights for EDC. Mostly various zebralights. One DQG, just because it's so tiny. Some other BLF lights I've bought in various group buys (all Chinese, afaik). I think the BLF group buys offer the best value lights, though the quality is only average.

My two favorites are a Astrolux A01 (a small AAA light), just because it disappears in my pocket so well. And a Zebralight SC64w HI, because it has great output and tint for such a small 18650 light.

The US has a long and storied history of of invention and manufacturing and the pride that goes with that. Canada's got wheat and syrup and ice.
I am all stocked up on Canadian canned wheat, in case of food supply emergency. wikipedia.org/wiki/Canned_Wheat

Today I am rotating in the Noctigon KR1 Vn single SBT90 DL single 18650, 4935 lumen, 669 meters throw, 120gm w/o cell, 35mm head diameter. Proudly Made In Earth.
