I found two of the first generation E01 lights in unopened packaging. Had forgotten I had these. Undecided if I should open and use them or not. Any collector value?

They aren't "collectable" in the true sense of the word but if you had no need for them you could certainly sell them. Many people still like the originals quite a bit.

There are certainly hardcore fans, myself included. Given the movement on AAA lights in recent years, I can't see a collector premium on them.

It's my understanding
(and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong)

original version of E01:
Not potted
produced 10 Lumens
Ran 14 hours (fully regulated) on an L92 cell

revised version of E01:
IS potted
produced 13 Lumens
Ran 10 hours (fully regulated) on an L92 cell

I have several of Both versions,
and they truly deserve the respect they've earned !

If you have the 13 lumen version you have a type of light unlike anything in the market today especially for its price point. Nothing available today will match its size and durability.

Thanks LeanBurn for the info. They are the 13 lumen model. Just read the packaging and Fenix claims 16.5 hours of run time. I was surprised

I have the 13 lumen one and it seems like I do good to get 4 hours of fully regulated light and then it drops down to about 5 lumens for a while but altogether it doesn't seem to go 10 hours. Maybe I got a dud, but I still like it.

to greenpondmike --

Note that my statement (above) of 10 Hours in full regulation
is with an Energizer Ultimate Lithium L92 AAA cell.

I acquired a 13 lumen version second hand and for a while used it to suck out the last bit of fuel from batteries that would no longer run a wall clock.
One day Mrs Fixer said "oh that's cute"…… I really miss that flashlight.

My experience for output & runtime was about the same, with rechargeable NiMH cells. Great little light.
I don't mind the bluish tint, but a more neutral tint would be a fantastic option for the E01. Wish they'd reintroduce the potted version E01 with a neutral tint option.

This is where I came up with 16.5 hours of run time. I thank the previous posters with what I think are more accurate times.

Keep in mind --

When Fenix, and other manufacturers
state Runtimes, they usually DON'T mean
" in full regulation " !

Their specs usually go down to 20 %
of original brightness, i believe.

< just sayin' . . . . >

* UPDATE * -- it's actually down to 10 %
