Thread: 18350/18500 Battery Compartment Pre-Sale

I decided on the 18500. Flush of course!... I like the 18650. Due to the clip option shortage on the rotary, I got used to having a CR123 rotary floating around in my pocket long ago. The 18650 tube is actually better for pocket carry in my opinion. Due to the added length of the 18650 tube, the light stays upright in my pocket better than the CR123 tube. Something just a tad bit smaller would be cool though so I opted for the 18500.

Went with raised button (18500), much easier to press when you have a thumb injury.

Ordered a 18350 flush. Now if only these came on Ti as well...

I went with an 18500 raised. I just love the raised button, and with a spacer, I could potentially run an 18350 if needed. And the thought of running a battery with almost twice the capacity of an 18350 for just an extra 15mm in length, it's a no brainer for me.

    Where do you get spacers?

I was just thinking of making one. Wooden dowel of a proper diameter and a screw threaded down the middle and cut off to a proper length. Just need to make sure there are no sharp edges after trimming. A solder blob could do the trick.

Or just go this route. Would be much better than a wooden dowel and a screw.

    I am also in ...

I only need a few cheap 16340 sleeves in case I'd like to use CR123 in the 18350 tube.

For my two BC’s, just got my ‘should be shipped within 26 weeks’ notice from Henry. I knew this timeframe up front, but it’s so weird to see that many weeks as a written out number... Certainly this is not instant gratification.

26 weeks gives us something to look forward to around tax time.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming - WOW - what a ride!!!

I know. But, 26 weeks? Seems like a probation of sorts.

I've been waiting on an 18350 body for at least five years so another few months doesn't seem bad at all.

Thanks. When you frame it that way, now I don’t feel so bad.

So far, demand has not really been that great. It is almost an even split between 18350 and 18500. It is open until the end of the month, and I'm hoping demand picks up as right now it isn't looking so good.

Hmmmm.... Does that mean we will not get the tubes we ordered due to the low demand?

I would swap my orders to either type that would bump it to happening; if that was required.

I'll make it happen. It WILL happen. Just demand is not really all that great.
What it effects is the future... next time I hit Henry up with something I think there will be a large demand for... well... this doesn't look good. Not good at all.

    Thank you for that update.

It may be the 20% rule at work here. 20% of the people in any size group actually get things done and follow through.
