I'm in for a red Malkoff if it's 660nm.![]()
Did “we” ever find out which Amber LED Henry used for his Amber?
I have nothing to add, other than to say I’m still interested.
Happy Holidays!

Definitely Hyper Red. In if L. Out if LL.
I picked up all the colors being discussed here: red, amber, green, blue. Red was the Sofirn CO1R, Amber, Green, Blue were the betas from Darksucks. Just wanted to see what all the discussion was about. I didn't use any for their suggested purposes (preserving night vision (red) or not attracting insects outdoors (amber)). I will say it's funny, the red, that deep red is really weird...makes my vision almost fuzzy when it's on high. Can't imagine what tons of output in a Malkoff would be like after seeing that C01R AAA light output. The one I was surprised to like is amber. Super soothing in the evenings, like a campfire. Odd though (to experience) is the super washing out of color. Then you switch over to any really warm LED you may have and boom, color is back, though really warm, you can see purple, red, green and blue again. All of this to say, I'm having fun playing around with these AAA lights but I'm probably out for a dropin that would take my one MD2 out of use for a "white (warm)" LED. (I know, I know, buy another MD2, ha). I'll keep reading this thread and watching though. I think I'll hang on to these AAA colored lights (not much space taken up or $$ tied up) but otherwise, I'm not sure they'll actually get much use. Maybe in spring/summer I'll have more fun taking these outside and looking around.
