One of my favorite lights, ZL SC52cw, great light! Been running the Sanyo's with good results. Picked up a couple of the Gold Vapcell 1000 3A cells. They run well. I've read about the Purple Vapcell 1000 10A cells, H10's.

Would there be any benefit in running the 10A' s vs the 3A's just for use in the SC52? Share your thoughts or experience.

Looks like the SC52 with an XM-L probably maxes around 1.5A or so on 14500. Checking gold Vapcells vs the purple Vapcells, the gold ones hold a higher voltage over a significantly longer capacity, even at 5A the golds outperform the purple over their whole discharge with 200mAh or so more to 3.2V.

For your light, get the gold Vapcell 1000mAh 14500s

Just go with the highest capacity. The SC52 is regulated, so you'll get a stable 500 lumens whether or not the cell is high or low drain. 3A is more than enough (about double, as someone else already mentioned).

The SC52 steps down to about 300 lumens after 1 minute on max. So, you'll be under 1A for most of the run-time.
