Streamlight Waypoint 300

I’m looking at a Streamlight Waypoint 300. Does anyone know if it steps down in power when you use the high setting (2500 lumens) I’m new to flashlights and I’ve learned just enough to be completely confused. Thanks in advance.

It is a 1000 lumen light and it steps down. I keep track of my black lab with it and it works great, has really good throw. I can't see the stepdown but it is there I'm sure. I usually use maybe 30 second blasts. It seems to be about a 5 degree beam so it works well if it is hazy or rainy or foggy. Thousand meter throw.
