Bright rechargeable for $50.00 - Imposible dream?

My friend wants it as a gift for a lodge owner in New Hampshire, and specified that it should be "a really bright rechargeable light for outdoor use, up to $50.00". I asked him to reconsider so he could get a Tigerlight but he was horrified by the price. I told him about the Surge for +- $25.00 but he wants a rechargeable. I told him he'd have to pay at least seventy to eighty or more dollars for a Stinger or M9 and he said that's too much.

At this point I'm stuck. Is there any such thing as a good dependable and bright rechargeable available from a reputable company for $50.00?

There is a thread on here somewhere regarding this: Grainger 4V026 - LumaPro
Someone mentioned in that thread a code for a second battery pack free: GEEKLUMA

Hello Brightnorm,

That is quite a challenge.

I found this, but know nothing about it.

CT Zero for a tubular form light. Any of the Vector spots for much brighter.

I'm looking into the S&W that Tom mentioned and I've tried to find CT Zero in search, froogle, and Google but it's been Futile. I looked under CT Zero, CT0, CT-0, etc. Any hints ?

Aggreed! A 500,000 or larger rechargeable spotlight might be all he needs.

Maybe the new Streamlight Strion.

Lithium Ion Rechargable
12,000 cp
run time of 70 minutes
5.3 inches
weight .29 lbs (less than 1/3 of a pound!)

It is still new, I do not know what the cost is.

For the price, the CT Zero is a very good light. I also have a Streamlight UltraStinger and Tigerlight FBOP and I can honestly say that the CT Zero stands up quite well in terms of brightness and overall light output. Very white beam color, too. Runtime is very good. But it's a pretty large light - about the size of a 3D Mag in both length and thickness. It is not slim like the UltraStinger.

Reptilezs, thanks for the link. For some reason they refused my cc even though it has worked on all other sites. I'm trying to contact them about it.

Thanks all,

What's wrong with running NiMH batteries in the Surge?
Chargers are cheap and widespread, batteries are cheap, and can be used in lots of other items.

Good idea but he wants something that's "all in the light" and doesn't want to bother with separates.
