Any Wildland Firefighters out there?

First of all I would like to say that I am amazed at the terrain these guys have to deal with, and the adverse conditions they can have to endure when fighting a wildlands fire. They sleep in tents while at the location, arrive on short notice, and yet they all have been friendly and helpful to a TV news photojournalist that I am sure they would be laughing at if they weren't so humble, and professional. Thanks to you!

I was allowed to go to a fireline with an escort, a couple of weeks ago, and because of my lack of wildlands fire experience, I feel a great need to learn more, especially regarding safety practices, We all have to wear Nomex pants and shirts, hard hat, gloves, goggles, and a fire shelter, but I have received no training, and I feel concerned that my lack of training might cause problems. Is there an on-line site for the questions I have, or possibly some other source for information that someone could guide me to? I was the safety officer for a Ready-Mixed Concrete company in my previous life, so I have a real concern that my lack of knowledge might lead to problems.
Thanks
