Which 14500 in Logan 17500

Which 14500 batteries are you using in the 17500 Logan?

Any of them will fit with a sleeve. IMR are not recommended.
These lights will really run on about any single cell you can fit in the tube.

I can buy the hardware but I still have a lot to learn to make it optimally run.

IMR will allow the led to draw higher current, and the resulting heat may damage the optic.
I have both AW and Keepower 17500s.

the only 17500 button top I can find in stock are the Ultrafire. They are 52.5 +-
do you recommend I just stick with the more available 14500, or some other size?
I did order some rechargeable 3.6v 123a

I've read to either avoid Fire anything, or they are too long in the Logan 17500.
All the others I've found are flat top — which I'm uncertain if flat tops work.
Robyn told me to stick to button top. I'm not familiar enough with batteries to know why…I'm assuming there isn't a spring or such on the positive side?

Peak lights don't have springs in them. I don't see why a flat top wouldn't work; but typically they are not protected cells.
Did you purchase the adapter sleeves? If so, any quality 14500 or 16340 will be fine.

Yes, I purchased the adapter sleeves and the momentary switch.
I ordered the INR 123 that HDS sells, and the Efest that Malkoff sells.

Will the 3.6volt 16340 or 14500 produce the same intensity as a 17500, just shorter duration?
I read that it depends on the light...that volts drive the intensity of some lights, and other lights' intensity depends on the total watts.
And I might have that all wrong.

LEDs brightness is determined by drive amperage. They need a certain voltage to operate, but that (vf) remains fairly constant.
incandescent bulbs vary intensity with voltage and current.
Battery capacity determines runtime, dependent on amperage draw. Battery chemistry determines how much power can be delivered at a given point.
There are stckys in the general, led, incandescent, and battery forums which explain the basics well.

My 17500's are 51.50mm in length. They work great much longer then that and your probably going to be to long
