What are my options for a good size strongly visible searchlight beam?

I know business/attractions routinely have these outside their area to attract attention:

I also saw this thread:

I am not opposed to that level of build, but do I need something that big?
I did find a similar power supply and bulb on ebay, as well as the Phoenix Electroformed Products page.

I also saw this guy build a bat signal with a Imalent MS18 flashlight:

I am looking for something that can be used every day once it is dark for at least a couple of hours.

What about a simple HID light on a gimbal (40 or 50 W) with a remote AC power supply? No battery to worry about and the light can be oriented anyway you want. 40W will give you a 1000 meter beam. All for about $2k.

Hi there, if you wanna something that would produce a visible beam in clear sky, you need at least 200+W of short-arc and good reflector.

Look at my projects, i used Xenonics NH1 body and installed mercury short-arc bulb.
I build another one and sold it, it was cheaper mod with only ac supply without 12dc to 400 dc converter an other stuff.
It cost me 800$ to build. with portable 20AH LIPEFO4 battery 12 v
