The incan. E/C/D/Z-series all have pretty tight beams, which is why SureFire makes BeamShapers to diffuse the light. Well, what about the other way around? Has anyone heard of SureFire making BeamShapers to *tighten* the beam of their diffused LED lights?
With the KL1/3, and L1/2/4, the beams are pretty diffused (as is the intent), but I'm sure it could be shaped to have a hotspot and improved throw. I would think that you could just take the original BeamShaper filter out, and replace it with a lens of some sort (maybe something like the one on the PAL Light, PT LED-series, or the Inova X0) to get a longer throw.
Has anyone tried anything like this?
