Has anyone tried putting a 5 watt LED into a Surefire M3. Yes,I know that Surefire make the KL6, but that runs at about 65 lumens whereas most companies who seem to sell a 3 x 123 cell 5 watt LED (like TnC) claim 120 lumens. I'd love to hear from anyone who has tried this mod.

McGizmo once modded an M2 bezel to a 5W LS and said it was a PITA due to the shock isolation feature .... but it should be best to ask him directly.

Something like this?

I have something similar, but for the Turboheads. Ive been running one in a KT4 turbohead for some time now.
While the Shock Isolation prevents the heat transferring to the body of the flashlight, the reflector itself gets used as a heatsink, and quite effectively too.
Of course, you can always tweak the KL6 to drive the luxeon harder. Its the easiest SF bezel to take apart yet.
