Exploding Batteries?

More cell phone batteries explode in Vietnam
With the 'discussion' of exploding 123 batteries in multi cell flashlights, I thought this would be of interest.

I just read an article about an exploding cell phone in Hong Kong last night. The guy was talking on the phone when the phone explode, he almost went blind when the pieces of the phone almost hit his eyes, but luckily he only had a few minor burns on his fingers. Seems like these things happens pretty offer nowadays

I don't know if cellphone users notice, but some phones get VERY hot where the battery is, when talking/listening on the phone (not merely on).

Mine gets warm, and it is a Kyocera.

That was like the first one in Hong Kong, and that guy was using some kind of a cheapo battery. The phone was also bought second hand, so it was probably modified.
