The photon 3 is a great light, but I often found it on in my pocket. Therefore I made this simple mod:

Materials:
- Wire
- Glue
- Tool
Photon1.jpg

Procedure:
1. Cut wire in 6.3 cm (2.5 inches) and remove copper
2. Assemble wire ends to a ring with glue
3. Connect the ring to light

Furthermore I use an elastic to protect the switch.

Enjoy!

Maybe... But rather safe than /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mecry.gif

I am a soldier and ONLY use the dimmest function in the Photon 3.

I am very serious with my gear. I often fall down on it; lie on it and because of this I made this mod.

Hope this helps understand!

Nicely done, Thomas. I'll have to try this on my Photon. There's almost nothing more satisfying than a well executed do-it-yourself. Thanks.

If you use only the dimmest setting, why not get a Photon II and put a 3 volt battery (CR2032) in it, instead of the normal two CR2016's? It's nice and dim when you set it up that way, you get stupendous runtime, you don't have an electronic oscillator circuit making RF emissions that an enemy might pick up, and it won't turn on by accident.

Sounds like a possibility. What to do with the extra free space in the light? Any link to info?

Thanks
