Hi all,
Most of the troopers cary some variation of this package.

The flat box on top is some kind of laser sight for NVG.
The thing on the side, a modified flash light.

The flat box thing is the AN/PEQ-2. It has an infrared laser, and an IR flashlight. The user can select either or both, and the light is focusable. The SureFire I think is just the universal weaponslight. Also the little round thing behind the PEQ-2 is the Aimpoint M68 Close Quarter Optic, a red dot sight. He should also have a flip up iron sight (the BIS- Backup Iron Sight) behind the M68, just outside the photo's limit.

there seems to have been a lot of hype about that blended metal ammo, but the results seems to be eratic and no one will explain how/why they work (if they do work, reports vary), we have seen a lot of unsubstanciated hype about it with very little hard data.
