I have searched the archives and a few meters are mentioned eg.Extech, Meterman, Minolta etc.

None of these are available here to take a look at so before we import we would like some input from owners.

We need a meter to measure the light output from various flashlights from single AAA to 2 million CP spotlights. We may also want to log the data to produce output graphs over time.

Which meters are best suited for this application?

TIA

A simple way would be how I got atarted.

Get a logging digital multimeter....Radio Shack if you have them there.

Get a 1"x2" photocell

Hook the photocell into the multimeter so as to measure mA.

The software that comes with your logging mulltimeter should take care of the x-y plotting for you.

If you do all of you measurments from the same distance, you should be able to compare different lights to each other.

Your primary measurment with this set-up is the TIME it takes for the battery to run down...as indicated by the decrease in the output of the photocell.
