High powered headlight

I was recently priviledged enough to win a Segway scooter in a contest. The only thing is that I would like to make a headlight for it seeing as the headlights that Segway offers are quite expensive and use halogen which I don't particularly feel like spending $100-$300 for that when I could just use a couple 3-watt LS's or one 5-watt LS. I would like to send under $60 preferably under $50. I want some kind enclosure for it but don't know what to use and would also like to know what kind of converter you all recommend.
