Hello, I'm new to this site. I surfed in.

I have a couple of questions please. I'm not
too circuitry literate.

What precautions should I take if I use the
Koehler-Brightstar(LSI) XL1000 from my trucks 12v system?

How long should I limit my use to? I don't want to "fry" anything.

Also, I'd like your opinions on the
KB(LSI) vs StreamLight LiteBox rechargeables.

Thank you!

Joe

You're referring to one of these?

LSI's specs say 8.3 amps current draw. Assuming you are using from a lighter plug in your truck, you should be fine. Lighter plugs are fused for 10 Amps or more in most vehicles.

This answer your question? Or are you concerned for your truck's battery?

Thanks Gadget! You answered half my question. I'll go buy some spare fuses.

Now, if the trucks running, will I
have a problem with the battery?

Thanks again!

Glad to help.

No, if running you should be good for as long as the bulb lasts, or until you run out of fuel.

If not running, the current draw is close to what your regular headlights will draw. Depending on your battery, I wouldn't risk more than an hour or so.
