If you didn't already buy poppies to honnor our Vets, try to remember to pick up a few next year.

To keep our Veterans and the price of freedom in mind all year, we hang the poppies from the car's rear view mirror mounts and on our bicycles, besides wearing them the week before Memorial Day.

They get faded or lost so each year we buy several more. Do any of you keep some poppies around all year in a special way?

Thank you, Veterans.

I always have one poppie hanging from the rearview mirror of each car in the family. One is always mounted to my Grandmother's wheelchair as well. From now thru the 4th of July, the Veterans around my way are out with the poppies. I can't pass by without giving a donation (my choice). It's the least I can do to show my appreciation.

I missed the vet who sells at my train station (turns out he was at the OTHER staircase one day, and I was out the other.). I drove around to find one for this year.

Now, let's see if I can do this from memory (I won't cheat)

In Flanders Fields the Poppies blow
Between the Crosses, row on row
That mark our place, and in the sky
the Lark, still bravely singing "Fly"
Scarce heard amid the guns below

We are the dead, short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset's glow
Loved, and were loved,
and now we lie in Flanders fields

Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you,with failing hands
we throw the torch
Be your's to hold on high
For if you break faith
with us who die,
we shall not sleep
though poppies grow in Flander's fields
