Hi guys I found this neat light today. It is a 2x AAA light all hard anodized.
It uses a lens system and projects a focusable square if light. It is continuously variable from low to high.
It is 5 3/4 inches long. It has a 1 watt luxeon emitter.
The blurb says it A bit about it.
The pictures don't do the anno finish justice. I can say that it seems durable and it feels very nice and smooth. A lovely twisting action turns it ON and then it will focus the light.
Quetions?

Re: Chapman/Leonard Lens light Super cool 2xAAA light

Here is a beamshot:

At about 6 foot:
On the left is a ARC 4+ second on highest level.
In the middle looking somewhat green is the Chapman/Leonard 2x AAA light. on the right is the VIP on medium level.

This company makes Motion picture cranes ands camera dollies. Thees are some of the most interesting pieces of gear on a set. VERY precision. This flashlight is much the same. It is clear to me that a great deal of engineering has gone into this light. I am amazed that thees people had never heard of the candle Power forums. This light has been designed and built with , it seems NO influence from us at all.
There is quite a bit of room with this light to play. There is a super lens available as well.
It is so smooth I have to tell you. Also due to the sharpness of the lens system you can actually focus the light to see a closeup view of the emitter. Unfortunately all dust and anything less than a super clean led show very clearly as well.
more if needed later.

Wow! Somebody just hit the ball out of the park, and they probably don't even know they've done it. How much was it? BTW, I couldn't find it on their website if anyone decides to look. (Of course I could have missed it) COOL!

What was the price of the light? Is it really as long as it looks? It really is modular? Did you see what the option look like or, even better, did you buy the options?

That light would be so cool to have.

Yes it is a home run!!

Not perfect but really close.
It cost me $125.00
the extra lens is $30.00 somthing.
I did see it and it is a larger lens than the stock one I have one on order.
I have e-mailed them for www Info.
It has a tiny knob (pictured) you turn it to vari the output. It is truly cool.

It the variable output control a click switch or continuously variable output with a potentiometer?

I'm sorry for so many questions. I'm excited about your light.

Sounds like an interesting light though I'm quite skeptical of their "9,000 foot water" resistance claim.

I agree that the 9000 foot claim is crazy and said as much to them when they told me.
I guess that they think this is an important specification.

Mr Yaesumoto;
You haven't said anything yet about what kind of emitter you think this light uses... 5mm, Luxeon,..what??

-Would you hazard a guess for those of us who are just plain old curious..? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowlaugh.gif
