Arc 4+ is slightly flashing

When in normal mode, my Arc 4+ Rev2 is flashing, not noticeable unless you look directly at the element. The LED turns a little green, and flashes constantly at about a rate of once every 3 to 5 seconds. I made sure that it was not in the locator flash mode, or any tactical mode. What gives, cuz maaan I'm gonna have some beef with those little flashing goblins inside my light!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Turn the Ready For Service (RFS) option off. This will stop the flashing.

The strange thing about this is that Arc does not seem to know of this. They told me to send mine back, and they ground the switch and thought that was the problem, it still blinked. Finally, here I found the RFS solution.

It's more noticable in cold weather; put it in the freezer for a while.

[/ QUOTE ]There was a lengthy discussion about that a few months ago. A capacitor is discharged through the LED every couple of seconds.

I wish I saw that thread before they (peter and mary) told me to send it back because it shouldn't do that.
