I have what I recall is one of the first Limited Edition AAA, It has seen much use. Anyway it suffers from the I won't turn on unless you take me completely apart first syndrome. It doesn't flicker though. I added a solder blob to the head, and it's been sent back to ARC once already. I think this is pre chem-coated interior. I think the roll crimp has been done one it as well.

Is there a fix?

Might want to call or email Arc and see what they can do for you. Check their website, and at the top, see if the chat room is open for discussion. Currently its not open, but theoretically should be, so watch for that.

Thoroughly clean the threads on the head and body and the negative contact in the tube and last, the postive contact on the head. That alone has brought several dead AAAs back to like-new life for me. Don't forget to re-lube. And start with a new fresh date alkaline.
