5W + SO27XA

Can anyone tell me how the SO27XA does with the 5W Luxeons?
From what I'm reading, it is approximately the same overall size as the Pelican Reflectors, but is the parabola any different? Is it different enough to kill the dreaded 5W doughnut?

Elektrolumens has a post right here where he's trying to test this reflector with 5W luxeon and post beamshots... If my sample is any indication of the production pieces, the null is there. It does appear that a fine defocusing with droping the reflector down of lifting it slightly out of focus will remove it. If the reflector had an orange peal on it, it would be more friendly to the 5W. As, I believe it is manageble anyway.

I tested a 5W emitter with a SO17XA, and it looks more or less the same as the reflector on my TL-3 LED - only less conecntrated since it's a smaller reflector.
