I was looking at an acessory for a mag lite which is a tail cap light that comes in red or blue? Its looks cool, but its fifty bucks, can anyone tell me if it is worth it.

If you're thinking of dishing out that kind of money why not just get a SureFire E2. It's a whole lot brighter, shorter and comes with a tail cap switch. And then of course there's alway the other two cell SureFires, 6P, G2, (these two are relatively inexpensive, after that they start to go up a bit) D2, Z2/6Z, C2, and M2.

He's talking about an additional light that replaces the tailcap on the standard (or the rechargeable) MAG. It comes in red, amber, or blue, and it has a strobe beacon inside the colored lens/dome.

I've often wondered the same thing. Here's what little I've found. They have LOTS of them at Gall's "returned-item" sale every month. I asked why, and they told me the most frequent reason wasn't dissatisfaction, but ordering the tailcap light for the wrong flashlight. (The tailcap strobe is available for the traditional Mag (C-cell or D-cell), Mag-Charger, and Streamlight SL-20X and SL-35X. This offers many opportunities for confusion when ordering.)

Me, I figure I'll pass on this item, and save my battery life for the main light.

Here's a link to a picture and description, along with some reviews, the gist of which is, "Neat product, but way too pricey."

, I know which one you're talking about now and I had considered them myself. The only really useful thing I can them being used for is traffic direction. I think they'd be an officer safety issue if used on traffic stops.
