want to waste some time?
just call hp/compaq support and try to get drivers for a hnw-200 usb wireless adapter.
be prepared to hang up several times to get someone you can sorta understand.
just another reason to NEVER buy a name brand computer.
if they screw up drivers for a nic i would hate to have to deal with these clowns for a major piece of hardware or a system.

Snakebite, does this help? Their website [HP/Compaq] usually has all the drivers you could hope for. It is in my opinion that you should never call the manufacturer for drivers for a product as 90% of the time they don't manufacture their own products, so haven't a clue as to what you are needing. Besides, some hardware selections like network cards are not proprietary, so virtually any USB/PCMCIA wireless card should work.

We use HP/compaq at work. Our agreement with them states that we get local support. Some of our support requests end up in an Indian call centre.

snakebite,

I agree. Their service is horrible. I will never but another Hp/Compaq again. That being said, I just built a new PC last night. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif It's not a real screamer, but it's O.K. AMD XP 3000 processor, pc 2700 ram, Soyo motherboard...
