Hi Guys. Some time ago I needed some hotlips. There were NONE to be had. One thing led to another and I decided to have a few "D" cell O-Sinks made. I did have a problem with Hotlips. I was bad at centering the emitter. I am Just bad at at.
I had a 10% failure rate. I found it frustrating and expensive. This required a redesign of the pedestal. So that is what I did. You see the result here in a "C" version:

Guess what!! It works perfectly!!
Based on the sucess of the "D" cell version I did a run of "C" cell O-Sinks.

The "C" cell O-Sink is beefier. Thicker where it counts = more surface area to transfer heat.
The pedestal is taller.
The emitter leads are offset to the holes by 20 degrees.
The counter bore accommodate an e-CAN (as requested by a few people).
Not to mention the emitter self centering.
All in all Very Much improved.

There are 2 sizes. OLD MAG (ONLY A FEW UNITS left) and NEW MAG.
Please make sure of the size you need. It is a lot of extra work to fix if the wrong O-Sink is orderd.

Mark, Yes there are 3 tiny shallow holes. I have found in my experience that these holes help the adhesive to grab the O-Sink surface. A Tiny amount of AA is required for excellent adhesion. The Three tiny holes also give a visual indicator of proper emitter alignment.

Guys, just so that you know there has been a technical glitch at the machine shop with the milling machine. I left when they handed me the first production unit (it took many hours of work to get to that point). That is as far as they got.
I will now be picking up the O-Sinks on Monday unless they run them on Saturday.

I am not sure that they will be for sale. It depends on how they turn out. If I like the quality of annodizing I will be making some of the next batch in black. These 20 however are supposed to come in a bunch of supprise colors.
