Lost treasures exist in many locations. Some lie at the ocean floor often in shallow water, but sometimes at great depth. On land, there are also numerous hidden treasures. Coins, gold and silver bars, and jewels are hidden, waiting to be discovered. Some are in caves, mine shafts, and many are simply buried.

As a treasure hunter, you will enjoy the quest aided by use of a battery of tools at your disposal. With research as your initial guide, the road to excitement and reward lies just ahead!

Where to begin? Grasp the essentials from books, acquire basic supplies, and move ahead to adventure.

One fundamental treasure hunting tool is the metal detector. A first rate example is White's DFX Spectrun E-Series (MSRP $1,099.95). This is a highly regarded brand name and an excellent, high-performance model. However, the involved subject of selecting a metal detector necessitates detailed study, review of performance ratings, and careful analysis. After due study, you may find yourself back at this very same detector.

Search topics for further investigation: treasure hunting, metal detectors, metal detector ratings, lost treasure, hidden treasures, sunken treasure, buried treasure, treasure publications.

Enjoy!

Re: Discover The Incredible World Of Treasure Hunt

Hello L3,

I just picked up a Whites MXT. Very nice.

I was shooting nuggets in tailing piles in Alaska. Found lots of bullets, shells, and other junk, but struck out on the nuggets.

Went to a park and found change and some jewelry buried in the grass.

I picked this one because my Goldmaster II was not working properly and my son and I were planning to find nuggets. We panned and found lots of color and had a great time.

We also built and tested out a Metal Frequency Detector. Still working out the details on that one.

Metal Detectors (like flashlights) are all about compromise. Some are good for looking for little tiny things, others are looking for the treasure chest full of coins. It almost seems that you have to have several along with you to cover the range of opportunities that come up. The MXT seems to be able to cover a variety of conditions quite well.

When I find a collection of nuggets, I'll post pictures.
