I got my Kimber Custom TLE\RL II Recently, and I`m seeking
for a Surefire Millennum Series or MilitaryWeaponlight for
it.
CustomTLERLII.jpg

I asked Surefire and they said that only M001 fits.
Does any one have this light and take some picture?
I can`t find any picture about this product,no information
about this light... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

The x200 should slip straight on, although it is not in the millenium series which you state as your requirement...

Here is a current thread in the incandescent forum that might be of interest .. If you do a search on cpf you should get alot of hits on the x200 and the other weaponlights...

Do you know what actual rail system the Kimber has (it looks picatinnyish to me)? I think perhaps Surefire confused your model TLE with LAPD's finest: I don't think the LAPD Kimbers have the rail (From what i've seen)...

Here's a holster made for yours with the x200 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ..

Hope that helps /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif... BTW I'd be very interested to hear in a range report on your new piece /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

The packaging that comes with mine says 30 metres, so unless you plan to meet up with Chuck Taylor for an underwater range shoot it should hold up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Gotta love that guy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The only drawback on the x200 is the amount of sidespill that it produces is less than what the other weaponlights produce. Eric T's link in this thread .. helps show this.

It is for you to decide. An easy solution would be to always have a handheld light e.g. a Surefire L4, g2z or g2 etc to complement the pistol mounted light... My personal suggestion would be either a g2z or L4.
Also here's a thread that talks about the use of these lights if you're interested:

here

Remember also that the x200 with the LED will be completely impervious to recoil etc (i.e. no replacing lamp assemblies especially during critical times /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sick.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif), it is much smaller / lighter and the side by side nature of the batteries do not require any special type of recoil resistant battery modules as are recommended in the other weaponlights...

Hopefully i've given you some more research material /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That's awesome!

Any chance you could take a photo of somebody holding that combination please?

Also, have you modified the M101 at all? I thought a little "lug" prevents it from attaching to standard rails?

Thanks

Hey, cool, you linked to my pics. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

More pics here.

I actually have two X200s, but one is back at SureFire--the switch actually let in a bit of water, but I think that this was a fluke/isolated incident.

I'd take my remaining X200 swimming... but I'd like to wait for my first one to come back from warranty work first. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif For the most part, these lights are quite watertight! Ask Don about him trying to remove the bezels. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

KT4+M101 I like that midification!

What is the difference between M101 and M001?
M101 for Picatinny,and M001 for Universal?

What modification it needs when attched to TLE\RL II?

This is mostly according to the 2002 WeaponLight Catalog.
(not the most reliable source I admit)

M111x - SlimLine pressure switch (wraps round the grip)
x is C or D shuttle switch.

M101 is for Glock with constant-on shuttle - no SlimLine

M001 is direct mount to 92FS Vertec

I suggest you contact SureFire and ask for a WeaponLight specialist before ordering.

I agree with Al about getting advice from Surefire.

From what i've seen though (this is my opinion only from seeing both pistols a while back) the Kimber has a picatinny rail and the Beretta Vertec has a universal rail like the Glocks...

Would anyone care to either confirm this or blow me out of the water /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ? I don't have time to do a search on the web for more detail...

"2002 WeaponLight Catalog"<--Where to get?I don`t know
they got that catalog at all...does it has PDF?

To:lightmup
Sorry I am not very sure about the TLE\RL II is
picatinny or universal, but I searched on the kimber`s
website,it seems TLE\RL II is universal rail.

P.S.I am new here,still learning,and my english
writing ability still have a lot room for it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif

The "Picatinny" Rail is the standard rail for carbines etc.
The "Universal" Rail is what Glocks and smaller handguns use.

The TLE\RLII has a Picatinny Rail like other 1911's with a rail.

The trouble with rails is that they may look similar but there is a lot of variation.

The TLE has the middle slot cut through the center of the rail slots so the M001 is supposed to fit w/out problem. (Please confirm that Lion.) Though it's a Picatinny rail there will only be a very small amount of play fore & aft.

Al, I'll try to get better pics ASAP.

Ah, you're using the M001, not the M101.

Someday SureFire will release their ultimate guide to WeaponLights that will answer all these questions.
